Transportation/Buses

Bartlett Academy contracts transportation services to Durham Services. Our goal is to provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school for all students that qualify for transportation.

The Parent Responsibility Zone is 2.0 miles for Middle and High Schools. If you live within these zones, you are responsible for providing transportation for your student(s).

Below is a list of issues/examples for which you should contact Durham Services main bus lot at 901-383-2216.

  1. Bus is excessively early or late to a designated stop.
  2. Bus completely misses or does not pick up at a stop.
  3. Parent/student is having an issue with a driver.
  4. Bus is picking up/dropping off at the wrong stop.

For routing concerns/issues, please contact transportation shared services at 901-286-6703 or our shared services Transportation Director, Debbie Rike, at [email protected].

For any issues that are persistent and you feel like are not being addressed in an efficient and timely manner, please contact the shared services transportation and/or the Bartlett City Schools Operations Office at 901-202-0855.

Students can only ride the bus that they are assigned.

Suspension from the School Bus
Except where prohibited by law, students who engage in bus related misconduct may be suspended from riding the school bus to and from school. Decisions involving temporary/permanent removal from school bus ridership will be made by the principal. In such cases, the student would typically continue his/her school assignment, but he/she would have to find another means of transportation. Truancy laws would still be in effect. Additional disciplinary actions may also apply when bus-related misconduct involve violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
