One of the first questions my students ask me when they enter my classroom is "Is French hard?" My response is always the same. "It's only hard when you're not enjoying what you are learning." Learning a new language is exciting, but it can also be challenging and frustrating at times. My goal is to prepare engaging lessons that captivate my students' interest and develop their love for all languages.
I provide a safe environment where students are encouraged to come out of their comfort zone to practice French in a variety of different contexts. I encourage and incorporate physical activity, friendly competitions, music, team work, artistic expression, writing expression, technology incorporation and more.
Students are encouraged to submerge themselves in the second language to develop cognitive recognition of sounds. This promotes phonic development in helps tremendously in their pronunciation of words. Listening to music & watching videos of their interest at home is beneficial to their learning in the classroom.
