School Counseling Department

Our mission is to empower all students to reach their potential by providing a comprehensive counseling program that facilitates academic, career, social, and emotional development. In support of a student's academic success, we are here to guide students to make appropriate decisions and help them access available resources. We advocate for students and consistently monitor their progress. Our goal is to help students develop self-confidence and acquire the life skills necessary to function as productive members of society.  This foundation will be supported and further strengthened by consultation with educators, administrators, parents, and community advocates.  We are available to assist with academic issues, educational and career planning, as well as personal concerns.

School counseling services are delivered through a comprehensive school counseling program which includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

  • Developmentally appropriate classroom meetings
  • Individual counseling
  • Consultation and collaboration with parents, administrators, teachers, support staff, and community agencies
  • Professional development
  • Information sessions for parents
  • Student advocacy
  • Social services and mental health agency referrals
  • Coordination of prevention and intervention programs

All students are encouraged to meet their counselors early in the school year. The School Counseling Department is open daily from 6:45 am to 2:15 pm. Please call or email if you would like to schedule an appointment.
